Description
Cone bee escapes are an effective non-chemical method for removing bees from honey supers. Cone escapes will not plug with bees like Porter bee escapes can and because of the number of passages are better suited for colonies that are “boiling over” with bees in the honey supers. Place the cone bee escape between the honey super and brood chamber. The bees will enter into the channel and pass through the cones as they exit the super. Bees can get out of the cones but cannot get back in easily and most of the bees will removed from the super in 24 hours.(If the escape is left on for 2 or more days they will eventually find their way back in). Works best when night-time temperatures are cooler.
