Our Timely Topics series is geared toward individuals who have kept bees for at least one year.

The focus of this seminar is winter preparation of honeybee colonies. In particular we will discuss the major elements needed to give your bees the best change of winter survival, winter cluster characteristics, emergency feeding techniques and more.  This seminar is being offered in person.

Class Location: Capital Bee Supply, 200 Commercial Drive, Columbus, Wi
Class Time: 9 am – 11 am.

Spring build up time!
Monitor overwintered colonies for swarm signals –
Drone production and Swarm cells.
Consider reversals and/or Splitting strong hives.
Check mite levels in overwintered hives.
Feed new packages 1:1 sugar syrup and possibly pollen patty.
